During our recent visit to Puerto Rico’s vibrant market, we at Toral Wines & Spirits witnessed firsthand how Chilean wine not only maintains a strong presence in terms of volume —around 10% of the market— but also generates growing interest when presented in an innovative and differentiated way.
A clear example of this trend is 9 Fairway, our brand of wines aged in tequila, rum, and bourbon barrels, which was enthusiastically received at every presentation we held on the island. Currently, 9 Fairway is already available on the shelves of well-known chains such as Napo Vélez and Navarro Supermercados, marking a solid step in its local positioning.
We also had the privilege of introducing the brand in an exclusive venue like “Entre Humos,” a cigar & spirits hotspot in San Juan, where the pairing of special-aged wine with premium tobacco drew great interest.
During our visit, we also had valuable conversations with Eduardo Arosemena of WineNewsTV, one of the most influential digital creators in the Puerto Rican wine scene, and participated in the podcast Los Amantes del Whisky, where the unique profile of our 9 Fairway Bourbon Barrel Aged wine was especially highlighted.
Our portfolio would not be complete without one of our classics: Casa Donoso Evolución, a wine that impressed the local audience with its fruity character, excellent balance, and ideal profile for the Puerto Rican consumer looking for a quality, accessible daily option.
Our distributor on the island, Hill Brothers, was the perfect host and a great ambassador of our brands in the Puerto Rican market. Their commitment and local knowledge were key to the success of this visit and further strengthen our presence in the Caribbean.
It is worth noting that 9 Fairway Ron Barrel Aged is now arriving in one of the most important rum destinations in the world — a milestone that reflects the growing interest in products that combine tradition and creativity.
