The Great Wines World Miami 2025 event, organized by JamesSuckling.com, left an indelible mark on the wine world last year. With a record attendance of over six thousand professionals and enthusiasts, it established itself as the largest event ever organized by James Suckling.
At Toral Wines & Spirits, we are always eager to meet new producers and actively participate in James Suckling’s events. We were very excited to take part once again this year in the event, which was held on February 27 and 28, 2025, at the Beach Convention Center in Miami, Florida.
A mosaic of global flavors
The scale of the event is reflected in the participation of 382 producers from the world’s most prestigious wine regions. Attendees had the privilege of tasting more than 900 exceptional wines, all rated with a minimum of 92 points by James Suckling and his team of editors. Diversity has always been the highlight, with wines from Argentina, Chile, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, South Africa, Uruguay, the United States, Canada, and New Zealand.
Event highlights and new features
Last year’s event featured 45 prestigious Bordeaux châteaux, an impressive selection of Italian wines (Barolo, Chianti Classico, Brunello), and more than 30 outstanding U.S. producers, including the number one wine on the 2023 list of the Top 100 U.S. Wines. Seven prestigious Champagne houses were present, along with eight other sparkling wine producers.
Stellar wines
Attendees had the opportunity to taste JamesSuckling.com’s 2023 Wine of the Year, the Laurent-Perrier Champagne Grand Siecle Grand Cuvee N.26 NV.
Other standout wines from the 2023 Top 100 lists were also presented, including Argentina’s 2023 Wine of the Year (El Enemigo Cabernet Franc Gualtallary Gran Enemigo Single Vineyard 2019) and Italy’s Wine of the Year (Damilano Barolo Cannubi 175 Riserva 2016).
Casa Donoso Buttery Chardonnay: A wine to enjoy
Among the wide range of Chilean wines, Casa Donoso Buttery Chardonnay stands out as a white wine known for its elegance and complexity. Produced in the Maule Valley, this Chardonnay is characterized by tropical fruit, vanilla, and buttery notes, resulting from its aging in oak barrels. It is an ideal wine to pair with fish, seafood, and soft cheeses—undoubtedly, a wine to taste and enjoy.
The Great Wines World Miami 2024 event concluded with resounding success, and both James Suckling and the participating producers eagerly anticipate this new 2025 edition.
