The world’s wine epicenter moved to Paris for a historic event.
From February 10 to 12, Paris became the global capital of wine as it hosted Wine Paris, an event that not only broke attendance records but also reaffirmed its position as the world’s leading wine and spirits exhibition. With an impressive 52,622 visitors—45% of whom came from 154 countries—Wine Paris showcased its strong appeal and growing influence in the industry.
Over the last three years, Wine Paris’ exhibitors have grown from 2,864 in 2022, 3,387 in 2023 from 42 countries, 4,000 in 2024 from 48 countries, to over 5,300 in 2025 from more than 50 countries.
In 2023, ProWein had 6,000 exhibitors from 60 countries; in 2024, it dropped to 5,282 from 65 countries, and in 2025, it is expected to have around 5,000 exhibitors, still from 65 countries—losing 1,000 producers over three editions.
Unprecedented International Growth
One of the most remarkable aspects of Wine Paris 2024 was the significant increase in both the size and number of international exhibitors. The exhibition space grew by 80% compared to the previous year, allowing the participation of eight new territories. The presence of countries like Australia and the state of Washington, which had a strong representation at the event for the first time, underscores Wine Paris’ global appeal and its ability to attract key players in the international wine industry.
Be Spirits: A Reflection of the Booming Spirits Industry
In addition to wine, Wine Paris also hosted Be Spirits, a dedicated section for spirits producers that saw a 47% increase in exhibition space. With nearly 300 spirits producers from 34 countries, Be Spirits has become a must-attend event for spirits enthusiasts and professionals.
Wine Paris vs. ProWein: A Growing Rivalry
The success of Wine Paris 2024 presents a direct challenge to ProWein, the German trade fair that has long dominated the wine exhibition industry. With a 14% increase in attendance compared to the previous year, Wine Paris has surpassed ProWein in visitor numbers, positioning itself as the go-to event for wine professionals.
Getting Straight to Business
These figures highlight how quickly the global industry adapts, ensuring that producers and buyers connect in the right place to drive business forward.
Both sellers and buyers face mounting pressure—from rising costs and shrinking margins to the looming impact of Trump-era international tariffs—making it more crucial than ever to strike the right deals at the right time.
In our case with Toral Wines & Spirits, we focused on continuing to meet our producers, retailers, and partners while searching for new and exciting exclusive and private labels for the US and Latin American markets.
The Future of Wine Paris: More Than a Trade Fair, an Industry Platform
Vinexposium CEO Rodolphe Lameyse shared his vision of Wine Paris as a platform that goes beyond buying and selling products. Lameyse emphasized the goal of making Wine Paris a space where industry challenges and opportunities can be addressed, where influence can be exerted, and where valuable connections can be established among key players in the wine value chain.
